Art is the highest form of hope and the boldest form of self-expression. Creativity - the greatest rebellion in existence. It takes courage to create and share our work. Both art and creativity are based on non-conformity and rooted in possibility. Their right of existence lies in providing an opportunity for a space to shape itself around a concept.

“The truth of art lies in its power to break the monopoly of established reality to define what is real.” - Herbert Marcuse

Artistic work is both a matter of survival and a chance to learn how to live. It helps us achieve stability and restore the connection to the core of our inner being. We go through a fragile process of filtering perceptions, learning, un-learning and re-learning how to listen, look and see before giving birth to new realities. We allow ourselves to become who we are. Yet both vulnerability and authenticity require practice. Exposing the core of our being to a world of friends and strangers to love, criticize or ignore is never simple.

It means living out loud, learning out loud, creating out loud while maintaining faith and staying devoted to our craft. This creative shift keeps us sharp, alert, awake and curious. And if we fall in love with it deeply enough, everything becomes possible.

"The purpose of art is to lay bare the questions that have been hidden by the answers." - James Baldwin

What drives me to create is the desire to add something unique to what already exists. The motivation to share it has its origins in the belief that sometimes a word, a line, an image is enough to change one's perspective and one's life. Perhaps a drop of ink can indeed make a million think. I believe that both the artist and the receiver of the art's message grow and transform into new versions of themselves. Art and creativity make this possible for us.

My work is a celebration of life through the transformative power of writing and visual art. Its purpose is both to heal and stir, to calm and excite minds. It also seeks to encourage and guide aspiring, beginning or blocked artists and writers to find their voice and share their gift with confidence.
